WHAT IS AN INCIDENT RESPONSE PLAN?

An  incident response plan  is used by a company when it is confronted with a cyber incident. If team members don’t react properly to a virus, hack, or data leak, damage can spread like an oil patch. A security breach is the nightmare of every IT manager. During this training, we teach you how to create a customized step-by-step plan.

WHY TAKE THIS TRAINING?

WHAT DOES THE PLAN LOOK LIKE?

An incident response plan is a collection of playbooks. Each playbook lists a possible incident and the procedure to follow. For example: has someone discovered that a database has leaked to the outside world? Then that person takes out the flowchart for that situation and follows the instructions step by step. These plans might look very different depending on the company

WHAT’S IN THE PLAN?

Each plan contains detailed instructions on the handling of an incident and especially – which is something we tend to forget- on how to communicate during an incident. The incident response plans we are using and the method we will teach you is based on the  NIST SP800-61 framework .

We teach you how to prepare your organization to respond correctly to a cyber incident. When everyone knows what to do, you don’t waste time and panic errors are avoided. With clear procedures, everyone can act confidently in any situation. Specifically, we will teach you how to create an incident response plan for your organization. We will go over the types of incidents that exist and which ones may be applicable to you.
